OVERVIEW

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) employs approximately 1600 employees and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). GSP troopers investigate traffic crashes and enforce traffic and criminal laws on the state's roads. Capitol Police officers prevent and detect criminal acts and enforce traffic regulations throughout Capitol Hill. MCCD officers conduct safety inspections of commercial motor vehicles and inspect highway shipments of hazardous materials.

The mission of the Georgia Department of Public Safety is to work cooperatively with all levels of government to provide a safe environment for residents and visitors to our state. Although focused primarily on the enforcement of traffic laws and investigation of traffic crashes, the Department of Public Safety will support the efforts of all public safety agencies to reduce crime, apprehend those who commit them, and respond to natural and manmade disasters. Policy Analyst - State Based Exchange

Under general supervision, the Policy Analyst is responsible reviewing and updating program policies for the implementation and ongoing operations of the state-base exchange, Georgia Access.

Provides technical policy advice to all business units across Georgia Access related to consumer eligibility and enrollment, appeals, private-sector partner and assister (Navigators and CACs) program requirements.

Reviews and updates policies while aiding in the development of policy agenda that meets the goals of Georgia Access while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.

Provides expert advice and guidance on Affordable Care Act (ACA) provisions to internal/external constituents.

Leads in researching and analyzing information to draft policy proposals as requested by Georgia Access leadership or required by updates to the federal guidelines such as the Notice of Benefit and Payment Parameters (NBPP).

Supports with review and drafting commentary on annual updates to federal guidelines in the NBPP to reflect Georgia Access positions on regulatory guidance, with support from other Georgia Access business units.

Assists with drafting the Georgia Access Annual Report in collaboration with the compliance and reporting analysts and the Engagement Team to highlight strategic goals, enrollment efforts and metrics.

Coordinates with the eligibility and enrollment team and the Administrative Procedure Division on consumer eligibility appeals.

Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Complnc Specialist 1 (RCP060) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require a certification or licensure. Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
