OVERVIEW

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) employs approximately 1600 employees and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). GSP troopers investigate traffic crashes and enforce traffic and criminal laws on the state's roads. Capitol Police officers prevent and detect criminal acts and enforce traffic regulations throughout Capitol Hill. MCCD officers conduct safety inspections of commercial motor vehicles and inspect highway shipments of hazardous materials.

Although focused primarily on the enforcement of traffic laws and investigation of traffic crashes, the Department of Public Safety will support the efforts of all public safety agencies to reduce crime, apprehend those who commit them, and respond to natural and manmade disasters. Housekeeper - Full and Part Time positions - GGTC Billeting - Hinesville

This announcement may be used to fill all current or future full-time and part-time Housekeeper openings.

This position is located at the Billeting Office at Georgia Garrison Training Center (GGTC) Fort Stewart.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Performs orderly and sanitary repetitive cleaning tasks of assigned areas such as sleeping quarters, common areas, and restrooms. Maintenance includes the moving of furniture, equipment and supplies in and around assigned areas as needed. Follows policies and procedures regarding client confidentiality and security. Applicant may be required to work nights and weekends.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those applicants who in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications also have a minimum of six months of work experience in housekeeping, facilities maintenance or any combination of cleaning and maintenance experience.

 

Additional Information:
The selected applicant will have the additional following requirements:

 

1. Must have a valid GA Driver's License
2. Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
3. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and will be placed in the pool for the State Random Drug Testing Program.
