Job Title:  Project Director, Early Serious Mental Illness (ESMI)- Atlanta

Pay Grade: M

Workplace: Hybrid- 2 to 3 days per week in office

Travel: Standard travel for site visits and meetings

Job Summary:

Description of Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the Georgia LIGHT Coordinated Specialty Care initiative for young adults in the early stages of serious mental illness, specifically first-episode psychosis, and other initiatives related to Early Serious Mental Illness (ESMI), including Crisis Respite Apartments for First Episode Psychosis (CRA-FEP); the Youth and Family TREE SAMHSA grant, and the Clinical High Risk for Psychosis (CHR-P) SAMHSA grant

·Oversee statewide implementation of the Georgia LIGHT initiative

·Identify barriers to implementation and develop recommendations to address barriers

·Serve as Subject Matter Expert for the State on Coordinated Specialty Care

·Develop Request for Proposal/Statement of Need and convene review committee for selection of new Georgia LIGHT and other ESMI program sites

·Negotiate and develop contracts with selected ESMI providers

·Meet with providers regularly to monitor contract progress; provide technical assistance and consultation as needed

·Manage ESMI budgets and contracts; ensure contract deliverables are met; ensure funds are spent in accordance with funder regulations and federal and state guidelines; process invoices to ensure payment to providers and vendors

·Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements as required by federal, state, and other entities

·Manage all activities related to the development of project work products; lead or serve on committees, task forces, and work groups to further the goals of ESMI

·Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field related to Coordinated Specialty Care, Early Serious Mental Illness, transition-aged youth and young adults, and mental health care practices and service delivery

·Organize and facilitate quarterly statewide learning collaboratives for ESMI providers, focused on disseminating strategies and practices to best serve the identified population

·Identify training needs among ESMI provider staff and coordinate training activities

·Recommend development of or changes to policies and practices of service delivery

·Serve as liaison to SAMHSA and other national-level technical assistance providers and evaluators;

·Coordinate with other offices and sections of DBHDD, regional DBHDD offices as well as child- and adult-serving agencies, advocacy, youth, and family organization to advance ESMI initiative goals

·Represent Georgia LIGHT and ESMI initiatives at federal, state, and local level

FOR THIS TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT, STATE LAW REQUIRES A NATIONAL AND STATE BACKGROUND CHECK AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.  

Bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration, or a related field which includes three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role; or seven (7) years of related professional experience which includes three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role; or three (3) years of experience required at the lower level Mgr, Business Ops (GSM010) or position equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
