Teachers Retirement System - TRS

The Retirement Services Division is seeking a Retirement Coordinator to join the Working After Retirement Section. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with Georgia law and Teachers Retirement System (TRS) policies while delivering high-quality service to retirees and employers.

Key Responsibilities

·       Interpret and apply state and federal laws, Board of Trustees rules, and administrative policies related to working after retirement.

·       Review retirement accounts for accuracy and perform quality control checks.

·       Monitor retiree employment activity and communicate with employers regarding eligibility and compliance.

·       Process re-retirement applications and ensure accurate and timely updates to retirement payroll.

·       Prepare benefit estimates and perform cost and overpayment calculations.

·       Provide guidance to retirees, employers, and state and federal agencies.

·       Conduct group presentations and meet with visitors as necessary.

·       Research cases and generate reports using TRS systems and online resources.

·       Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

·       Some college coursework and/or at least three (3) years of TRS work experience

·       Strong customer service and communication skills

·       Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

·       Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

·       Ability to apply judgment and discretion when interpreting retirement laws and policies

·       Strong mathematical skills

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database systems

·       Ability to prioritize workload and perform effectively in a high-volume environment

Preferred Qualifications

·       Experience serving in a team lead or mentoring role

·       Experience developing procedures or documentation

·       Presentation or public speaking experience

·       Knowledge of Working After Retirement processes
