The shift for this position is 8am-5pm, Orange 1 Unit

Job Summary:

Functions as a supervisory level RN and performs RN duties, assigned to a specific non-patient unit area at a state mental health hospital.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • May provide RN support to Treatment Team, Individual Support Plans, Discharge Planning, etc.. 
  • Completes staffing assignments, i.e. work schedules/assigns training schedules etc. and other administrative tasks for the work area..
  • Provides recognition and critical performance feedback to staff. Completes Annual Performance Evaluations.. 
  • Approves time off requests; completes Kronos timecard reconciliation and sign off..
  • Administer prescribed medications or starts intravenous fluids, and notes times and amounts on clients' charts..
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and client records.. 
  • Monitor all aspects of client care, including diet and physical activity.. 
  • Observe nurses and visit clients to ensure that proper nursing care is provided..
  • Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in clients' conditions..
  • Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A current license to practice as a registered professional nurse. 
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience at the Registered Nurse level.

*Additional Information - Selected applicant must meet the following standards: 

1.     Must pass a pre-employment background check (which includes criminal records check, driver's history, and verification of work history) and a post-hire federal background investigation.

2.     Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and will be placed in the pool for the State Random Drug Testing Program.
