POSITION: PART-TIME ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY TUTOR- DIFFERENT CAMPUS LOCATIONS AVAILABLE
REPORTS TO: Director of Academic Success

HOURLY RATE:  $22.00; up to 19.5 hours per week
Summer Semester:  May 19th - July 23rd, 2025; no classes June 30th - July 4th, 2025.
Fall Semester:  August 11th - December 3rd, 2025; no classes November 24th - 28th, 2025


RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Tutors student(s) at Lanier Technical College in the subject area of anatomy and physiology.
• Meets with student(s) on an established basis in a learning center, community location, or classroom site convenient to both tutor and student(s);
• Assigns manageable tasks and provides positive feedback;
• Finds and prepares appropriate teaching materials that suit the student(s)’ ability, goals, and interests;
• Discusses student(s) progress with appropriate staff;
• Carefully listens to student(s) and offers encouragement and support;
• Maintains a positive, warm attitude that encourages the student(s) to learn;
• Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed;
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the tutoring areas;
• Meets ALL required deadlines as established by Supervisor;
• Performs basic administrative duties to support the daily operations of the tutoring program.

Minimum Requirements: Successful completion of a complete sequence of college-level classes with a minimum grade of “B” in Anatomy & Physiology coursework.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, or closely related field from a regionally accredited College or University;

Previous work experience as a Tutor.

Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners

Would occasionally lift or move objects of a light to medium weight, up to 20 pounds.  Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings.  Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes. 

NOTE: Tutoring positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic-term basis.
