Water and Fuels Maintenance Specialist - 165th AW/CES Garden City
As part of the Georgia Air National Guard's 165th Airlift Wing Civil Engineering Squadron maintenance team, this position is responsible for maintaining the liquid fuel storing, distributing, and dispersing systems for CE, ensuring that the systems are maintained in the highest order of reliability, repaired quickly and efficiently, and modified to the extent required by Air Force Standards (UFC 3-460-03) and Environmental Protection Agency regulations.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs periodic, scheduled inspection and maintenance of the water and fuel systems to ensure efficient and effective operations of the system, including visually and manually checking for leaks, faulty fittings, and inoperative components and adjusting and calibrating gauges and meters to ensure maximum operating efficiency.

Diagnoses malfunctions of the water and fuel system components such as control valves, low level shut-off controls, cleaning and purging equipment, dewatering components and flow meters. Repairs, and if necessary, modifies the jet propellant liquid fuels system to correct diagnosed problems, improve efficiency, or meet Federal environmental regulations, disassembles units and examines each part for sign of wear, cracks, pits, and breaks, and conducts tests of new or repaired components before installation.

Maintains gasoline and diesel service station, periodically inspects, identifies maintenance problems, and makes repairs or modifications on these systems.

May also provide various other utility duties when required, including grounds maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those applicants that meet the minimum qualifications and also possess:
- Two years experience with Jet and Automotive fuel distribution systems;

Forklift certification.
