The Georgia Department of Labor is currently seeking applicants to fill multiple UI Policy & Procedures Analyst 1 positions in the UI Policy & Procedures Department at the Georgia Department of Labor Headquarters in downtown Atlanta, GA.
These are twelve-month time-limited positions with benefits.
Essential Function and Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, reviews and verifies wage and employment documentation submitted by program applicants to determine validity and adequacy.
- Conducts fact-finding interviews with applicants to gather pertinent information and release program eligibility determinations.
- Performs follow-up tasks in support of investigation activities.
- Duties may be complex in nature and may involve access to confidential UI information.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to use proper and effective investigative and interview techniques
- Experience generating and managing high-volume, detailed work, requiring critical thinking skills
- Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to comprehend, retain and apply information and multi-task
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Qualification
- Two years of experience filing and/or processing UI claims
- Two years of experience conducting Benefit Eligibility Reviews (BERs) and rendering UI eligibility determinations
- Two years of experience interpreting and applying UI benefits and/or tax laws, rules and regulations
