Job Description: Develop, design or revise training presentations, activities and materials related to program compliance and requirements for two [2] federally funded Child Nutrition Programs (Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Happy Helpings, Georgia’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and/or other nutrition-related programs/initiatives. Present information at state and nationwide conferences and deliver training sessions for new applicants, existing participants of the CACFP, SFSP and Division employees. Schedules, coordinates, and deliver onboarding training to new hires and helps develop and provide on-going professional development for tenured staff. Travel is required. This position is remote and is under limited supervision.

 

Job Responsibilities:

·       Develop, design and/or update annual, monthly, and/or quarterly presentations, activities, and training materials related to CACFP, SFSP or other Agency/Division nutrition initiatives.

·       Reference CACFP/SFSP policies, memos and/or source documents in PowerPoint presentations.

  • Conduct CACFP and SFSP training for new applicants, existing participants, and all newly hired Division employees.
  • Organizes, coordinates, and assists in delivery of onboarding training to newly hired Nutrition staff.
  • Organizes, develops, and assists in delivery of continued professional development for tenured Nutrition staff.
  • Present information in a clear concise manner using adult educational methodologies and learning models.

·       Ensure updates to policies, memos, and/or federal regulations are effectively communicated in all training materials and handbooks.

  • Coordinate training logistics, i.e., training platforms; venue locations; training dates.

·       Maintain a library of current regulatory and state policy literature.

  • Provide technical assistance to program participants and internal staff.
  • Communicate effectively and timely with customers and/or other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information.

·       Assists in special projects and initiatives of the unit.

·       Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Training & Experience:

Associate degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience related to area of assignment; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Busi Support Analyst 2 (GSP131). Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Management, Education, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, or Public Administration AND two years of experience related to training and development in adult education. Preferred qualifications include:

·       One to two years of experience with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and/or the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP),

·       Experience with virtual training platforms and Learning Management Systems (LMS),

·       Extensive experience developing, designing, and delivering compliance training,

·       Exceptional communication skills (oral and written), and

·       Experience working in diverse communities.

 

Technical Competencies:

·          Knowledge and application of Federal regulations (7 CFR 226 or 7 CFR 225), federal financial management guidance, and 2 CPR 200 (OMB Circulars A-122, A-LB, 3015, 3016, and 3019).

·          Knowledge and use of Data Management systems (Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point and/or Access and training development/design software).

·          Ability to solve problems, multi-task, organize, prioritize, and demonstrate flexibility.

 

Physical Requirements:

·          Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings.

·          The position requires occasional bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items or materials of moderate weight up to 30 pounds.

·          The ability to speak clearly, to hear and understand at a normal conversational level, and to receive detailed information through verbal communication.

·          Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: developing material; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

·          Full range of hand and finger motion for data entry purposes.

·          Must have a valid Georgia driver's license, insurance coverage, and the ability to drive extensive periods as needed.
