Technician - Purchasing
This job is a Full-time, benefited, FLSA Non-Exempt position in the Administrative Services Division that reports to the Director of Accounting.
Salary: $43,680.00/yr.
Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 31772 Category 1)
High school diploma or equivalent *and* Three (3) years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, a two-year degree from a technical college. Working knowledge of the State of Georgia and Gwinnett Technical College purchasing policies and procedures. Purchasing training from the Department of Administrative Services. Experience using the PeopleSoft accounting system. Working knowledge of Excel. Good organizational skills. Works well independently and in groups.
Job Description Summary:
Under general supervision, the Purchasing Technician assists the business office staff with daily workload and special projects as identified and assigned.

Creates high volume of purchase requisitions; creates high volume of purchase orders; finalizes purchase orders in computerized accounting system – Follows all state purchasing regulations, state purchasing law, and internal regulations. |

Provides support to the Purchasing Specialist with daily workload, training, and reporting requirements. |
