Summary/Objective:  

This position will manage a federal grant focused on shifting individuals with disabilities from subminimum wage employment toward competitive integrated employment opportunities. The Manager will lead, evaluate, and assist with the development and administration of vocational rehabilitation services projects that are designed to prepare individuals with disabilities to seek, secure, and sustain competitive integrated employment outcomes. The position will direct project members and subordinate staff, as necessary, to achieve project goals.  

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Plans, organizes, and manages the project’s goals and objectives in compliance with RSA Performance Indicators.  

  1. Establishes, monitors, and controls schedules and project budgets. 

  1. Directs and oversees assigned work of project members and support staff. 

  1. Responsible for cross-business project needs that may span the agency. 

  1. Serves as highest advanced level subject matter expert for the project, providing authoritative guidance for professional staff. 

  1. Manages the financial administration and human resource relations of the project.   

  1. Assures quality services are provided within the project. 

  1. Engages a wide variety of stakeholders to drive shared project goals. 

  1. Works as a team member with all other agency personnel to champion agency-wide initiatives and meet enterprise goals. 

  1. Provides updates to agency’s executive leadership team, as needed. 

  1. Creates and maintains a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation. 

  1. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices. 

  1. Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Required Education and Experience: 

High school diploma/GED and eight (8) years of professional level experience OR an equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job experience or training that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year over year. 

 

Preferred Education and Experience:   

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the required education and experience, possess one or more of the following: 

 

  • Three years experience managing Federal grant funds

     

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field i.e. (Business administration, Finance, Public Administration)

 

Supervisory Responsibility: 

None required for this position. 

Work Environment: 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones. 

 

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

 

Working Conditions: 

Incumbents working in this job perform duties in an office setting. This is a 40-hour workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high-volume workload and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Regular attendance is an important part of being successful in this position. Reasonable accommodations can be made available to qualified individuals upon request.  

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work. 

 

Travel: 

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
