Under supervision, handle accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, expense vouchers, and receipts or other financial activities within an agency. Records financial transactions, reconciles accounting records and prepares reports.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Receive, process and verify invoices for proper coding and approval (via paper and electronically
  • Researching statements/invoices and resolving any discrepancies or variances
  • Preparing weekly completed check runs, including positive pay file, NACHA file, and EFT transfers
  • Create Accounts Receivable invoices promptly and accurately
  • Post payments and communicate with customers about past due balances.
  • Oversee and manage client funds accounting and record maintenance.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and accounts payable/receivable.
  • Accurately record financial transactions and ensure they are classified correctly.
  • Evaluate financial operations, identify areas of potential improvement, and provide advice on achieving maximum efficiency.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with applicable laws/regulations.
  • Prepare for and assist with financial audits and tax preparations.
  • Recommend strategies to increase profits and reduce costs.
  • Maintain compliance with all accounting standards and regulations.
  • May assist with audit activities.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Experience with accounting software and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to deal appropriately with confidential material.
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management and staff.
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills and ability to multi-task.

 

 

Requirements/Competencies:

  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
  • Must have valid Georgia driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
  • Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.

 

Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
