The Technical College System of Georgia’s (TCSG) Office of Workforce Development leads the State of Georgia’s workforce development system, WorkSource Georgia, and administers federal workforce development programs aimed at connecting talent to opportunity. The Regional Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting local and regional businesses in high-demand industries by developing talent pipelines to recruit, hire, and retain Georgia’s workforce. The successful candidate will focus on assisting both existing and new Georgia businesses in expanding their workforce to promote job creation and economic growth within the region.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

·       Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of WorkSource Georgia workforce recruitment programs and other services for businesses, state and regional labor market information, and external business and economic development resources available through state or local partners.

·       Build and maintain meaningful and effective working relationships with local business and industry partners, economic development organizations, and state and local government partners.

·       Serve as a lead point of contact for businesses in high-demand industries looking to recruit and hire Georgia workforce.

·       Promote and market WorkSource Georgia services and attract new and retain existing business clients seeking recruitment services.

·       Identify and attend local and regional events, conferences, trade shows (including exhibitor opportunities) to generate new business clients.

·       Internally coordinate services and action plans across TCSG and OWD and collaborate with internal partners to ensure a comprehensive solution to business client needs.

·       Develop and provide effective presentations and facilitate value-added workshops for specific audiences.

·       Develop and implement regional promotional strategies to further WorkSource Georgia’s visibility and elevate brand awareness.

·       Provide direction, support, and training to assigned Business Service Recruiter(s). 

·       Document activities in the internal CRM system and assist with individual and team performance reporting.

·       Lead and support regional and team events for businesses, such as workshops, job fairs, and hiring events.

·       Attend and participate in local and regional board meetings and activities.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

·       Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related work experience OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and four (4) years of related work experience.

·       Must reside in the region or willing to relocate to the region at personal expense.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

·       Knowledge of the federal workforce development programs, such as Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA).

·       Experience in state or local economic development and/or workforce development.

·       Experience delivering presentations in groups.

·       Knowledge of state and federal regulations.

·       Experience in sales, targeted outreach, or other similar areas.

·       Recent experience or knowledge of local employment and training service delivery systems.

·       Experience working with collaborative partners.

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

·       Time and task management skills

·       Basic computer skills and ability to adapt to job-related software programs

·       Organizational skills

·       Project management skills

·       Superior oral and written communication skills

·       Skills in interpersonal relations and customer service

·       Decision making and problem-solving skills
