Program Testing Specialist- Adult Education
Employment Terms: This job is a full-time, benefited position in the Adult Education Division that reports to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction-ESL. Student progress is determined by using BEST Plus testing assessments, and testing will be conducted for all English as a Second Language classes. Enrollment varies, but expect to test up 2000 students each instructional session.
Salary: $48,880
Schedule: 40 hours per week. Schedule varies with day and evenings included. May include Saturdays during registrations, high testing periods or staffing needs.
Locations include:
· Gwinnett Tech-Alpharetta-North Fulton
· Gwinnett Tech – Lawrenceville.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency credential. Maintains necessary certifications and/or licenses. Must be able to be trained as a BEST Plus tester. Data entry experience using Microsoft Word and Excel is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or higher. Currently certified as a BEST Plus tester. Three years (3) or more of computer-based testing experience, five (5) years or more working in a secure testing environment proctoring standardized testing, three (3) years or more working with data and reporting.
Certain positions are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Refusal to take the test or a positive result will lead to separation and a 2-year ineligibility period for state employment.
Additionally, for any employment offer that includes a required drug test, the test must be completed within 48 hours. Failure to comply will result in the offer being rescinded and a 2-year ineligibility period for state employment.
Job Description Summary:
The Program Testing Specialist is a key position in the exam delivery process. Under general supervision, provides testing services to customers. Researches and analyzes program/operation data; generates regular and ad hoc statistical and information reports to supervisor and all pertinent staff. Maintains necessary certifications and/or licenses. Coordinates logistics for sessions; ensures that facility area is scheduled and all equipment is prepared as needed. Oversees the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of software and computer systems. Attends training provided by the state and the testing services. Meets all testing standards and adheres to testing policies. Enters testing data into the state database.
Classes are offered in the daytime, evenings and on Saturday. This position requires flexibility to test students when classes are in session. Schedule can vary weekly depending on division needs.

3. Oversees the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of software and computer systems. 3.1. Identifies and resolves problems and restores service to the user in a timely and efficient manner with minimum disruption to the user. 3.2. Ensures that computer operations and equipment comply with applicable policies, procedures and rules. 3.3. Responds to initial on-site requests for assistance and resolves problems in an effective manner. 3.4. Ensures that all customers' applications continue to work as expected by performing maintenance on components as needed. 3.5. Reports all incidents and responds when necessary. |

4. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending professional development training, workshops, seminars and conferences. 4.1. Attends internal and external educational programs and professional meetings as requested. 4.2. Participates in regular meetings of available and applicable professional organizations. |

5. Studies attendance hours and testing numbers to ensure students are testing when required. 6. Monitors the activities of personnel to ensure compliance with TCSG policy manual and division procedures. 7. Performs data entry of testing results into state database. |
