The Waking The Last Mile Program Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing programs aimed at supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration to community reintegration. This role involves collaborating with correctional facilities and other facilities as needed, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure successful reentry and reduce recidivism rates. The Program Manager provides direct supervision and reentry daily operations to ensure the delivery of services and compliance with program policies/regulations consistent with the Department’s strategic plan.

 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

·         Program Development and Implementation: Designs and implements reentry programs that address the needs of individuals leaving incarceration, including life skills, job readiness, education, community resources, drug and alcohol support, and mental health support.

 

·         Operational Management: Monitors program performance and makes data-driven adjustments to improve outcomes, while also collecting and analyzing data to track program outcomes and prepare regular reports.

 

·         Case Management Oversight: Supervises assessments, individualized service plans, and progress tracking for participants, ensuring tailored support for successful reintegration.

 

·         Community and Agency Collaboration: Collaborates with correctional facilities and community organizations to create a network of support for program participants and ensure successful reentry.

 

·         Compliance and Reporting: Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to reentry programs and services, and supervising direct service staff involved in prisoner assessment/service planning and educational programming.

 

·         Grant Management: Serves as the central point of contact for all grant activities, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and tracking outcomes.

 

·         Policy and Advocacy: Develops and maintains program policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient program delivery, and facilitating communications between prison instructors and prison administration.

 

·         Staff Supervision and Training: Manage direct service staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, performance evaluation, and professional development.

 

·         Communication: Deliver engaging and informative speeches to various audiences regarding the program.

 

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED and eight (8) years of professional level experience

OR

  • An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job experience, or training that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year over year.

·         Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

·         Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

·         Ability to work across a diverse population

·         Travel up to 50% of the time is required.

Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of job-related subordinate management experience in a human service delivery program; or related certification and two (2) years of job-related subordinate management experience in a human service delivery program; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Mgr 1, Social Svcs (SSM010) or position equivalent.
