Public Health Registered Nurse, Level 1, 2, or 3

General Nature of Work

·   Provides patients assessment/care, educates patient and the family, and refers patient to agencies that can assist in meeting health and/or social needs

·   Provides care coordination and case management services

·   Facilitates physician/patient communication & treatment via Telehealth

·   Position requires travel throughout the 14-county Health District, including home visits

·   Conducts presentations at schools, churches, organizations, etc., and may serve on community committees

·   Provides outstanding customer service and maintains HIPAA standards related to Privacy and Security

·   Must maintain CPR certification

·   Responds to Public Health Emergencies

 

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree/diploma in Nursing from an accredited college AND Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license. (Please mail or bring a copy of your College Transcript or Diploma to the Interview—you must have an official transcript prior to the start date). This position requires the ability to lift up to 45 lbs. and the ability to bend and reach up.

 

Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience in providing case management services

·         Experience performing physical exams on newborns, toddlers, children, and adolescents

·         Baccalaureate-level health assessment course

·         Previous employment with any state’s Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health

A State Merit Application for Employment must be received by this office no later than the deadline. Highlight any experience related to the Preferred Qualifications. This position may require driving company vehicles (Valid driver’s license required) and working some evenings and weekends during special events such as health fairs and responding to disasters. Selected applicant must consent to a motor vehicle record assessment. Points should be less than 10 and/or not negatively impact insurance rates for the agency. Drug screen, criminal background check and immunization records may be required. If selected, male applicants between 18 and 26 years of age must present proof of Selective Service Registration. Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and completion of a PHN course within one (1) year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.
