Paygrade/Salary: N-$74,758.74, O- $84,477.37

 General Nature of Work

·        Provides overall management of a county health department’s nursing, clinical, and population-based services

·        Provides programmatic and fiscal oversight, manages budgets, and makes assessments to determine community needs

·        Supervises subordinate clinical and non-clinical staff

·        Provides direct clinical services of male/female patients, which may include genitalia exams

·        Provides exceptional customer service and maintains HIPAA Standards

·        Identifies community partners, providers, and agencies to help further public health efforts in the community

·        Responds to Public Health Emergencies

 

Minimum Qualifications

 HCP 194: Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level PH Registered Nurse Spv (HCP193) or position equivalent. 

HCP195: Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of RN supervisory/management experience and completion of PHN course within six (6) months of hire if no PHN experience and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level PH Nursing Spv 1 (HCP194) or position equivalent and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.

Physical requirements for this position include the ability to lift up to 45 lbs., and the ability to bend, stoop, and reach up.

Preferred Qualifications

·        Previous employment with any state’s Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health

·        Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing, public health, or related field from an accredited college or university

·        Developing and managing budgets

·        Managing multiple programs

·        Quality Assurance experience

·        Managing professional clinical staff

A State Merit Application for Employment must be received by this office no later than the deadline. Highlight any experience related to the Preferred Qualifications. This position may require driving company vehicles (Valid driver's license required) and working some evenings and weekends during special events such as health fairs and responding to disasters. Selected applicant must consent to a motor vehicle record assessment. Points should be less than 10 and/or not negatively impact insurance rates for the agency. Drug screen, criminal background check and immunization records may be required. If selected, male applicants between 18 and 26 years of age must present proof of Selective Service Registration.
