Summary

The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, Human Resources Internship unit has established a statewide internship program that will gain hands on experience supporting the daily administrative and operational tasks of the agencies. The intern in this unit role will help orchestrate the recruitment process for all intern across the state of Georgia for the agency.  The internship is designed for students who are interested in Human Resources processes and would like practical exposure to the Office of Human Resources operations in a professional workplace environment. This position will be under the guidance of the Internship Program Coordinator.   

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review resumes and applications for interns

  • Assist with scheduling interview with business partners

  • Support tracking of outreach efforts

  • Help coordinate materials, schedules, and communications related to program visibility

  • Assist with recruitment reporting and documentation as needed

  •  Monthly review of internship-specific recruitment fairs, including date of event, cost to register, deadline to register, number of representatives allowed, location, and type (all majors, criminal justice, business, etc) submitted on the final business day of each month

  • Assist with planning logistics, materials, and scheduling for fair participation

  • Support on-site attendance as needed

  • Track number of students reached and number that become interns

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Student enrolled in a Georgia High school, technical college, or university. Must be currently enrolled during the internship.

     

     

     

Preferred Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed coursework in Criminal Justice, Public Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or related fields

  • Strong interest in Human Resources and People management

  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards

  • Must meet the age requirements and pass background screening

 

Commitment

  • The internship is available from May 2, 2026, through August 3, 2026.

  • No more than 29 hours per week, 10-12 weeks total for a program or possibly longer, flexible workdays around the class schedule.
