Lanier Technical College (www.laniertech.edu) is conducting a search for the following part-time, non-benefits eligible, FLSA non-exempt position. POSITION: PART-TIME OPERATIONS ASSISTANT - HALL COUNTY CONFERENCE CENTER
REPORTS TO: CONFERENCE CENTER DIRECTOR
SALARY: $20 hourly; up to 29 hours per week
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Operations Assistant is responsible for assisting in the operations of events at the Hall County Conference Center. Coordinates and/or supervises the set up and break down of dining and meeting rooms for all functions. Coordinates catering and food operations at the Conference Center when needed. Provides Audio/Visual (A/V) assistance as required. Works closely with Event Office and Operations to prepare for each event.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Set up and confirm operation for events scheduled at the Conference Center
- Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, nights and weekends based on the event schedule;
- Assists in operations of events at the Conference Center
- Assists with catering and food operations at the Conference Center
- Provides Audio/Visual (A/V) support as required
- Other work-related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A High School diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of work-related experience.
PHYSICAL COMPONENTS:
Requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, crouching, climbing (including working from ladders), lifting light and heavy objects (up to 35 lbs.), and using tools and equipment that require finger and hand dexterity. Ability to drive a lift.
COMPETENCIES:
· Must be willing to work flexible hours, juggle multiple and competing priorities, and participate in appropriate staff development and campus activities;
· Must work well under minimal supervision to manage operations for events at the Hall County Conference Center;
· Positive attitude and strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required;
· Effective skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public;
- Effective decision making and problem solving skills;
- Ability to perform physical requirements of position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (in addition to minimum qualifications, physical components, and competencies)
· More than six (6) months of work-related experience
· Previous work experience in a Conference Center
· Work-related experience in a post-secondary educational environment
