Summary/Objective:
Under direct supervision, provide vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities to facilitate competitive and integrated employment outcomes.
Essential Functions:
1. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
2. Conduct intake interviews with applicants to gather personal, vocational and disability related information.
3. Explain the VR program, including rights, responsibilities and the overall process.
4. Collect and verify essential documentation.
5. Create accurate and complete electronic case files, ensuring all required forms and documents are properly uploaded.
6. Document all interactions clearly and thoroughly in the case management system.
7. Communicate effectively with applicants, including coordinating interpreter and translator services when needed.
8. Reviews and interprets educational, vocational, psychological and medical information while observing rules of confidentiality as stated in departmental guidelines.
9. Assists in determining eligibility, identifying order of selection and authorizing assessment services.
10. Monitors case movement and ensures timely provision of any identified and necessary assessment services.
11. Collaborates with other team members to ensure smooth case transfer and continuity of services.
12. Maintains confidentiality and adhere to all Agency policies, procedures and federal regulations.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in related fields such as Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, Education, Psychology or Social Services.
AND
One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Preferred Education and Experience:
GVRA requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related to qualify for the position and One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the required education and experience, possess one or more of the following:
1. At least six months experience working in vocational rehabilitation, social services, counseling or case management.
2. At least six months experience conducting interviews, gathering documentation or working directly with clients.
3. At least one year experience reviewing educational, medical or psychological records for the purpose of eligibility.
4. At least one year experience providing services to individuals with disabilities or service outreach for individuals with disabilities.
5. At least six months experience using an electronic case management system such as AWARE, System 7 or similar; and standard Microsoft office software including Outlook, Word and Excel.
6. One year experience working independently in a virtual or telework setting while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Supervisory Responsibility:
None required for this position.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard
office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or
hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or
feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb
or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift
and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color
vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Incumbents working in this job perform duties in an office setting. This is a 40-hour
workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high-volume workload
and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Regular attendance
is an important part of being successful in this position. Reasonable accommodations
can be made available to qualified individuals upon request.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00
a.m. to 5 p.m. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and
overnight travel may be expected.
