Summary of Responsibilities

The Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council is currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Human Resources Generalist. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR professional to provide comprehensive human resources support and deliver a high level of customer service to internal and external employees.

The Senior Human Resources Generalist serves as a subject matter expert in delivering comprehensive human resources services.  This role supports agency leadership and employees by administering and advising on HR programs including employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits compliance, and leave administration.  The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage sensitive and complex HR matters with discretion.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, Leave Without Pay (LWOP), and Donated Leave, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies
  • Coordinate and manage Workers’ Compensation claims and serve as liaison with third-party administrators
  • Process and respond to unemployment claims, including preparation for hearings and documentation
  • Assist with serving as ADA Coordinator, including conducting Georgia Activity Analysis and managing the interactive process for reasonable accommodations
  • Perform benefits administration and reconciliation (e.g., SHBP, FLEX, ERS, JRS) and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal records
  • Provide employee support and guidance on benefits and HR-related inquiries
  • Coordinate and support Open Enrollment, including employee education and communication efforts
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, including posting job announcements, screening applicants, and coordinating interviews using Team Georgia Careers (Taleo) or similar systems
  • Assist with employee relations matters by providing guidance on HR policies and supporting issue resolution
  • Conduct research and analysis on personnel issues and prepare reports as needed
  • Process and verify personnel transactions in HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft HCM), including hires, separations, and salary changes
  • Conduct audits of leave and personnel records to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Assist with development and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and job descriptions
  • Support HR training initiatives and participate in special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED and five (5) years of professional human resources experience
OR
One (1) year of experience at the lower-level HR Generalist 2 (HRP011) or position equivalent


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Experience working in a State of Georgia HR environment
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • FMLA, LWOP, and leave administration
    • Workers’ Compensation and unemployment claims
    • ADA coordination, Georgia Activity Analysis, and accommodations
    • Recruitment and talent acquisition
    • Benefits administration and reconciliation

 

This is not an entry-level position. Intermediate to advanced level human resources experience is required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft HCM, GA@Work)
