**THIS POSITION IS REQUIRED TO PASS THE MODERATE WORK CAPACITY TEST OR PAT ANNUALLY**
Examples of duties: Locate or re-locate, establish and re-establish permanent forest plots using specialized forestry tools and equipment; collect, encode, summarize, and download forest resource data in digital and hard copy format using computerized field data recorders and computers; conduct measurement and re-measurement procedures on various forest biota; identify and classify forest stand histories, land use changes, stand management opportunities, and various types of forest vegetation and ecosystems using common and scientific names and terms; incorporate and conduct quality control inspections within forest resource data collection processes to establish technical accuracy. Produce, develop, and incorporate weekly and/or monthly reports, correspondence, verbal communications, records, etc. to State FIA Coordinator and/or USFS personnel conveying various information necessary to communicate progress, problems, changes, and other timely criteria.
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an associate's degree in forestry, forest resources, or a closely related major which includes core forestry coursework, from a SAF-accredited school. Must have a valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of a bachelor’s degree in forestry, forest resources, or a closely related major which includes core forestry coursework, from a SAF-accredited school.
