Job Description
 

The successful candidate will work under general supervision and will be expected to:

  • Coordinates activities of an organization or department that serves food and beverages.
  • Coordinates the preparation of food for Central State Hospital.
  • Schedules and receives food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents in order to verify product quantity and quality.
  • Prepares and cooks foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
  • Oversees food service inventory.
  • Monitors food preparation methods, portion sizes, garnishing, presentation and display of food.
  • Monitors compliance with safety, sanitation and health rules and standards.
  • Monitors compliance with health, sanitation, safety and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and dining facilities.
  • Oversees food service inventory and estimates the amount and cost of required supplies such as food and ingredients.
  • Assists in the management of all activities related to food receipt, meal delivery, and cleanup.
  • Takes customer orders, apportions food on plates and serves food to facility residents, employees and patrons and take-out orders.

1.     Must pass a pre-employment background check (which includes criminal records check, driver's history, and verification of work history) and a post-hire federal background investigation.

2.     Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and will be placed in the pool for the State Random Drug Testing Program.

3.     Eligible to work in the U.S.

4.     Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. 

**High School and College Degrees Must Be from an Accredited Institution** 

High school diploma or GED AND Two years of experience in a food service operation in a capacity that involved formal supervision of workers OR One year of experience at the lower level Food Svc Spec 1 (FFT010) or position equivalent.
