Job Summary
Under close to general supervision, performs a variety of tasks assisting in the management of non-depository institution licensees including, but not limited to, conducting examinations, investigations and visitations of licensed companies, conducting investigations of individuals or entities that may be illegally conducting business without a license, conducting exit meetings with management to relay the findings of their examinations, preparing written Reports of Examination and other memorandums detailing the findings of their examinations, and gathering supporting evidence to assist in the implementation of possible administrative actions. These functions will be performed under the direct supervision of the Director of Non-Depository Financial Institutions and the Supervisory Examiner(s). While assisting in the licensing process, the examiner will be expected to review applications for new and renewal licenses.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Compiles and documents background information, prepares analyses or correspondence, and/or calculates obligations, penalties, or monies owed.
Completes selected portions of audits as part of an audit team or may complete routine audits.
Inspects account books and accounting or financial computer systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions.
Prepares and maintains databases, evidence, files and confidential documents.
Prepares or assists in the preparation of reports (i.e., case reports, audit findings, asset utilization, recommended changes in operations or financial activities).
Research financial histories, previous payments, balance sheet details or prior audit findings.
Reviews and examines ledgers or other financial or performance-related records to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud or noncompliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
Conducts auditing of establishment and determines scope of investigation required for non-depository financial institutions. Examiners would have a more limited scope until a level of expertise is achieved.
Assists with special projects as assigned.
Travel to non-depository financial institutions to perform job duties and to locations for required training.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of an undergraduate major in finance, business administration, or a directly related field at a four-year college or university. Must
