Facility Maintenance Worker Summer Hire, Part Time - GGTC - Hinesville
This part-time position is located at GGTC at Fort Stewart and is scheduled to work 29 hours per week Monday through Friday, and work weekends when necessary.
The Facility Maintenance Worker, under supervision, performs routine cleaning of common areas in assigned facilities, inspects facilities for deficiencies during daily activities, and completes minor repairs as needed.
Maintenance Responsibilities-Primary
- Performs routine/preventative maintenance on buildings;
- Performs basic plumbing repairs, such as unclogging toilets, replacement or repair of flush valves on toilets and urinals, repairing faucets;
- Operates hand tools and power cleaning equipment;
- Shampoo carpets
- Fix dead door locks
- Changing HVAC filters and monitoring thermostats;
- Light electrical repairs when needed (change ballast, bulbs, switches, receptacles, fixtures);
- Minor sheetrock repair, including painting and minor floor repair to include tile;
- Responds to emergency requests within established standard of promptness;
- Maintains and submits clear, legible, and accurate records of work performed;
- Assists maintenance supervisor as needed with other duties;
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those applicants that meet minimum qualifications and also have completed any maintenance related certifications.
Agency Specific Qualifications and/or Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those applicants that meet the minimum qualifications and also have one year of related experience.

1. Eligible to work in the U.S.
2. Possession of a valid driver's license
3. Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

5. Must pass a pre-employment background check (which includes criminal records check, driver's history and verification of work history).
