The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their full-time E Facilities and Assets Manager position within the Office of Quick Start. This position will oversee the maintenance and management of our facilities in the Savannah region. This includes the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center (and annex), the Hyundai Mobility Training Center of Georgia (expected completion in summer 2025), and temporary training sites at Port City Logistics and Lanier Learning Center.

 

This role involves coordinating maintenance and repairs, ordering supplies, and tracking inventory to ensure the smooth operation of these locations. The Facilities and Assets Manager will play a key role in maintaining a safe, functional, and efficient environment for all employees and visitors.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

·       Building Construction and Commissioning: Participate in the oversight of construction and commissioning of the Hyundai Mobility Training Center of Georgia by learning its operations and systems as it comes online, while also managing the decommissioning and relocation of temporary facilities to ensure seamless transitions.

 

·       Maintenance Coordination: Schedule and supervise regular maintenance tasks, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and general building upkeep. Coordinate with external contractors and service providers as needed.

 

·       Repairs Management: Respond promptly to repair requests, assess the situation, and arrange for timely resolution. Ensure all repairs are completed to high standards and within budget.

 

·       Supplies Management: Monitor and manage the procurement of supplies required for facility operations, including office supplies, cleaning products, and other necessities. Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing following state guidelines.

 

·       Inventory Tracking: Maintain an accurate inventory of all supplies and equipment. Implement efficient inventory management practices to track the movement of equipment and work with the Facilities Administrator to compile yearly inventory reports.

 

·       Safety and Compliance: Ensure all facilities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards.

 

·       Vendor Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and service providers.

 

·       Emergency Response: Serve as primary contact for after-hours responses needed at each facility. Coordinate with relevant personnel to ensure preparedness for potential emergencies.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelor’s degree *OR* Five (5) years of experience in a related field

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

·       Technical school certificate in mechanical and/or electrical construction.

·       Three years experience in a similar position.

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES 

·       Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role.

·       Strong knowledge of facility systems and maintenance requirements.

·       Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

·       Ability to manage budgets and negotiate with vendors.

·       Proficiency in inventory management and tracking.

·       Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

·       Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

·       This role may require occasional evening or weekend work to address emergency situations.

·       The Facilities Manager will spend significant time on their feet and may need to lift or move supplies and equipment.
