Facilities Maintenance Engineer 2:  Under general supervision, the Facilities Maintenance Engineer 2 assists, and plans, implements, and monitors facility maintenance programs, including construction and repair. Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled building trades work in the repair, maintenance, or construction of state buildings and related structures.  Position requires 24-hour on-call availability. The Facilities Maintenance Engineer 2 also performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Facilities Maintenance Engineer 3: Under general supervision, the Facilities Maintenance Engineer 3 assists in coordinating the engineering, maintenance, renovation, and construction of facilities. Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled building trades work in the repair, maintenance, or construction of state buildings and related structures. May serve as lead worker and/or supervise support staff. Position requires 24-hour on-call availability. The Facilities Maintenance Engineer 3 also performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Facilities Maintenance Engineer 2: Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Three (3) years of related experience. Note: must be able to meet the agency’s requirements to be an authorized driver.

Facilities Maintenance Engineer 3:  Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND one (1) year of related experience OR Four (4) years of related experience OR One (1) year of experience at the lower level Fac Maintenance Engineer 2 (FEP041) or position equivalent. Note: must be able to meet the agency’s requirements to be an authorized driver.

Competencies:

Considerable knowledge of the methods of maintenance and repair. Experience and skills required in technical areas such as welding, HVAC, carpentry, sheet metal fabrication, electricity, plumbing, etc. Experience with the use of relevant trade tools, equipment and materials. General knowledge of building construction/repair with considerable skill in at least one trade relating to renovation/construction. Ability to read, interpret and apply construction plans, specifications, and blueprints. Working knowledge and skill in diagnosing maintenance and repair problems.

This position is subject to close at any time once a satisfactory applicant pool

has been identified.

The selected applicant must be authorized to work in the United States and must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check, motor vehicle records check and drug screen.
