Clinical Lead - Crisis Center
CSU – Lead Clinician (FULL-TIME)
SHIFT: Mon – Fri (8:15 am –5:00 pm)
As an important member of our multi-disciplinary team, provides assessments, individual and group counseling, and other treatment modalities within an evidence-based framework with adult clients with behavioral health disorders. Provides counseling/therapy to clients requiring complex intervention, including those who are homicidal, suicidal or exhibit life-threatening behaviors. Complete assessments, manage a case load, complete treatment plans, and obtain authorization for services.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
ASSESSES/SCREENS MORE COMPLEX CASES
- Performs thorough biopsychosocial assessment of the less complex to more complex clients and documents the assessment within agency guidelines.
- Utilizes information from multiple sources as appropriate in the formulation of client driven treatment planning.
- Assesses and documents response to interventions and modifies interventions as needed.
- May utilize specific assessment tools regularly in evaluation of the client.
- Demonstrates strong clinical judgment in assessment, application of diagnostic criteria, clinical formulations, and sound triage decisions.
- Seeks clinical supervision as necessary.
ADVANCED THERAPEUTIC COUNSELING
- Creates therapeutic relationship as appropriate with clients and families/significant others.
- Conducts individual, group counseling / therapy, and educational sessions using evidence-based interventions.
- Demonstrates clinical knowledge in mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorder treatment.
- Demonstrates documented clinical proficiency (through education, training, or experience) in client engagement, interviewing and recording.
DEVELOPS AND PARTICIPATES IN COMPLEX CASE MANAGEMENT/CARE PLANNING
- Creates, communicates, and coordinates treatment plans for clients.
- Demonstrates expertise in care/planning through objectives, goals, and specificity of plan.
- Serves as resource to staff in demonstration of up-to-date knowledge of DCSB, community, regional, and state resources.
- Assist treatment team in problem solving regarding needed resources for complex clients.
- Ensures timely communication with providers through proper exchange of written and verbal communication.
- Document referrals, discharges, resources, or other issues for problem resolution and/or utilization as required in agency policy.
- May serve as a liaison in community resource activities.
- Cover shift/caseload in the absence of Case Manager or Counselor.
- Complete task and assigned task from multiple reports.
OPERATIONS:
In collaboration with, during absence of, or delegated by the Director or Clinical Manager.
- Assists in managing social service personnel, including staff coverage, through collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
- Demonstrates data driven decision capabilities with consulting with the Clinical Manager.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
- Assists in maintaining environmental safety and therapeutic milieu for staff and clients.
PROFESSIONAL
- Provides the highest level of services to clients.
- Maintain licensure/certification.
- Maintains ethical standards.
- Supports clinical leadership to promote best practices.
- Actively support agency goals and Clinical Manager.
- Work in conjunction with Clinical Manager to inspire staff to adhere to policy and procedure.
SKILL, COMPETENCY AND EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree and licensure as a LMSW or LAPC is required.
- Two years of related work experience, computer proficiency and ability to multi-task
- Demonstrates competency in using evidenced based treatments for mental illness and substance use disorders.
INTER-RELATIONSHIPS:
Able to communicate effectively with co-workers, internal and external customers, and the public. Ability to interact and communicate with clients and their families effectively.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Residential Crisis Stabilization mental health and substance use center 8:15am-5:00pm with some holidays/weekends.
Ability to use a computer, telephone, fax, copy and scanning machine.
