The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their full-time Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist position in the Office of Workforce Development. This position will play a critical role in supporting data-driven decision-making across the agency by transforming raw data into meaningful and actionable insights. This position will work closely with program managers, policy makers, and IT teams to analyze workforce program outcomes, develop performance dashboards, and streamline reporting processes. The BI Specialist will support initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, monitor program success, and ensure compliance with federal and state reporting requirements. This position is located at the TCSG System Office in Atlanta at 1800 Century Place, Atlanta, GA 30345.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Extract, clean, and analyze data from multiple internal systems and external data sources.
· Create and maintain dashboards and reports that measure the effectiveness of workforce programs (e.g., entered employment, earnings, skills gains, and credential attainment).
· Prepare comprehensive data summaries, presentations, and reports for program managers, executives, and other stakeholders.
· Design and implement data models, reports, and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
· Continuously monitor and improve data quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
· Provide technical expertise in integrating various data sources, including case management systems, labor market data, and federal reporting systems.
· Work with cross-functional teams to identify and meet business intelligence needs.
· Provide guidance and training to agency staff on BI tools and data interpretation.
· Collaborate with IT and program staff to automate reporting processes and ensure data is available and accessible in real-time.
· Assist in evaluating the impact of workforce programs and services, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
· Participate in strategic planning processes by providing data-driven insights and forecasting workforce trends.; and
· Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field *OR* three (3) years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a similar role, preferably in a government or public service setting, working with workforce development programs, WIOA, or labor market data is highly desirable.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience in state or local workforce development programs.
· Familiarity with labor market information systems and economic forecasting tools.
· Understanding of federal workforce legislation, including WIOA and related performance reporting requirements.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
· Proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
· Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, charts, and data visualization.
· Experience with databases and query languages (e.g., SQL) for data extraction and analysis.
