Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working for a Georgia State Agency, particularly in grants administration, budget, or fiscal operations.

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel for budgeting, expenditure tracking, variance analysis, and financial reporting. 

Experience in TeamWorks Peoplesoft Financials, Oracle Planning and Budget Cloud Service (PBCS) and/or Workday Finance.

One or more years’ experience in financial management, expenditure analysis, forecasting, and reconciliation utilizing Excel and financial reporting databases.

Experience coordinating budget activities across multiple departments, programs, or external partners/customers as appropriate.

Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools is advantageous but not required.

Comments:

GDC Budget Services is seeking two qualified candidates.  Position 00119706 for a Budget Analyst 1, 2, or 3 may also be filled utilizing this job posting.  These positions will be filled as a Budget Analyst 1, 2, or 3 depending upon the experience and education of the selected applicants.

The positions are assigned to the Department of Corrections Budget Services Department located at the State Offices South at Tift College in the City of Forsyth, GA (Monroe County).  Due to the high volume of applications, only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted. Open to internal and external applicants.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cost center managers in the development, implementation, and monitoring of annual fiscal year budgets

Provide guidance and technical assistance to internal stakeholders regarding budget processes, policies, and procedures

Conduct analyses and periodic reviews of program operations, fiscal performance, and policy-related issues

Monitor financial trends and provide recommendations and feedback to appropriate staff and leadership

Prepare and compile statistical analyses, financial projections, cost estimates, and strategic planning documents

Develop a thorough understanding of program business processes and assess related financial impacts

Clearly communicate analytical methods, findings, and recommendations to program staff and leadership

Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills across multiple communication platforms

Work collaboratively and efficiently with agency personnel and cross-functional teams

Maintain agency Worktags in GA@WORK (Workday) to support accurate accounting, financial reporting, and operational effectiveness

Perform additional duties and special projects assigned
