What will you do?
As an Auditor/Examiner 1, you will examine and analyze accounting records to determine the financial condition or compliance with tax code of an assigned organization program.

Which qualifications are required?
Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university
OR
Three (3) years of professional job-related experience

This is a hybrid position. This Auditor/Examiner 1 position operates out of the assigned office and have the ability to telework,
Core Duties
*Under supervision, drafts Voluntary disclosure agreements for different tax types: Individual tax, sales tax, and corporate tax within 60 days of receipt.
* Knowledge and skills to research on tax code, regulations to gather information needed in drafting agreements. Maintains applicable knowledge of policies, procedures, tax laws and auditing standards.
*Responds to taxpayer and representative inquiries within two business days.
* Process the files and spreadsheets and maintains a working knowledge of all computers related programs and functions necessary to perform the job.
* Fulfills production requirements as expected of the Auditor 1 role.

For the Auditor / Examiner 1 role, the Georgia Department of Revenue also conducts an MVR Check. Additionally, a criminal background check & state of Georgia tax records check is conducted on all new hires and you are required to have filed a State of Georgia tax return for the past five years.
The Preferred – Candidates possessing one or a combination of the following criteria will receive primary consideration:
- Good knowledge of accounting and taxation practices
- One year of tax auditing experience in various tax fields
- One year of experience in general accounting work
- One year of tax preparation experience
Priority consideration may be given to applicants that have:
- A Bachelors Degree and 4 accounting classes
*Note Applicants MUST attach a copy of college transcripts.
*DoR temporary associates must have completed at least 6 consecutive months on the current assignment for consideration.

Expected Salary: $50,000
