We are currently seeking an  Adult Mental Health Coordinator to join our team in making a difference in the lives of our patients every day.  We are located in the heart of Middle Georgia State where we enjoy abundant recreational opportunities, and a family friendly environment with good schools and opportunities for the entire family to be involved.

Summary of Duties

 

Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates the delivery of health services. Develops and implements related policies and procedures. Monitors and evaluates healthcare programs. Provide leadership to subordinate managers and staff.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assures that community health care services are adequate, appropriate, and accessible.
    1. Participates in planning and decision making for the overall operation of the CSB.
    2. Provides consultation and guidance to the leadership Council/senior management team regarding the linkage of clinical program activities and other administrative activities within the CSB/center.
    3. Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with top management and represents the CSB/center on committees and coalition at the local, regional, and state level.
    4. In collaboration with other health services directors, plans and coordinates activities that will meet the information requirement for clinical services.
    5. Assists the Executive Management team in responding to requests for information from the community and other agencies regarding public or mental health issues.
  • Develop long and short-term goals for the health agency and participates in the agency’s strategic  and operational planning
    1. In collaboration with senior management, utilizes input from the program director and staff to assess the clinical services training needs for the CSB/center staff.
    2. In collaboration with senior management sand Human Resources, develops training courses and participates in the training of clinical staff.
    3. In collaboration with senior management and Human Resource, reviews vendor training courses for appropriateness for CSB/center staff and makes recommendations on purchase of course materials or use of vendor.
  • Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluated the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges health care employees.
    1. In collaboration with program managers, reviews and updates program manuals periodically to comply with policy and procedural changes and standards of quality health care.
    2. In collaboration with nursing services, reviews, and updates nursing protocols for all programs to comply with state recommendations, mandates and current standards for nursing, when applicable.
    3. Provides consultation to program managers and staff by interpreting and clarifying policies and procedures for specific programs when needed.
  • Maintains awareness of advances in medicine, computerized diagnostic and treatment equipment, data processing technology, government regulations, health insurance charges, and financing options.
    1. Provides medical consultation for other physicians and psychiatric nurses concerning consumer management and treatment recommendations.
    2. Provides consultation to psychiatrists and psychiatric facilities regarding community resources and triage of psychiatric patients as needed.
    3. Provides medical and psychiatric services/supervision to other programs needed.
  • Manages human resources and directs administrative activities for health care employees
    1. In collaboration with the Executive Management, develops the clinical organizational structure for the CSB’s/center’s committees
    2. Reviews and ensures, through a multi-disciplinary process, the appropriate privileging and credentialing and regular performance review of clinical staff.
    3. Advises the Executive Management regarding the development of the CSB’s/ center’s programs.
    4. Assists program coordinators with the development of goals, objectives and implementation stops.
    5.  In collaboration with the Executive Management, develops a method to expand services in the most cost efficient manner, as needed.
    6. Provides consultation to the CSB/center regarding the operation of clinical services.
    7. Advocate for the Program by providing information to the community groups, hospital staff, and support staff in the public and private sector and participating in statewide, regional, and local meetings.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of services and programs
    1. Defines goals and/or required at beginning of performance period and gains acceptance of ideas by creating a shared vision.
    2. Communicates regularly with staff on progress toward defined goals and/or required results, providing specific feedback and initiating corrective action when defined goals and/or results met.
    3. Confers regularly with staff to review employee relations climate, specific problem areas and actions necessary for improvement.
    4. Evaluates employees at scheduled intervals, obtain and consider all relevant information in evaluation and supports staff by giving praise and constructive criticism.
    5. Recognized contributions and celebrated accomplishments.
    6. Motivates staff to improve quantity and quality of work performed and provides training and development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Oversees the planning, development, scheduling, and implementation of health care programs and activities
  • Participates in the development and administration of budgets.
  • Performs community assessments and develops policies and plans based on data collection, activity reports, planning documents, program plans and objectives
  • Plans and organizes program structure and policies to meet organizational programmatic objectives
  • Plans , organizes, and directs the work of the unit(s) to provide continuous active treatment to the consumers
  • Set priorities and implements goals and objectives to meet or resolve identified health programs.

 

Minimum Qualifications

·         Bachelor degree in a related field and four years experience performing management responsibilities in a health care services environment.

·         OR two years at the lower level or position equivalent

·         LPC, LCSW, LMFT and three or more years of experience in a managerial, supervisory, or leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications

·         Master degree with license and three years of postgraduate related field at least one year experience performing management responsibilities in a health care services environment

·         Fully licensed as RN (4YR), LPC, LCSW, LMFT and three or more years of experience in a managerial, supervisory, or leadership role.

·         OR Doctorate degree and two years experience performing management responsibilities in a health care services environment

Pre-employment Requirements:

  • Previous experience in mental/behavioral health field.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Submit to and pass a pre-employment:
    • Drug screen
    • DBHDD Background check
    • No more than four (4) points on a seven (7) year Motor Vehicle Report ?
      *If more than (4) points an approved DDS course to reduce points must be taken

 

Knowledge & Skills

 

  • Must be a self-started and work independently;
  • Must be highly organized and efficient;
  • Computer skills required (internet, word processing and spreadsheet programs);
  • Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures;
  • Must be capable of adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis;
  • Must have effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Four years of related experience OR Two years of experience at the lower level Facility Maintenance Wkr 3 (FES052) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require valid driver's license.
