Adjunct Faculty - Associate Degree in Nursing -Maternal Child Health/OB-Clinical  

 

This job is a part time, non-benefited, FLSA exempt position in the Nursing Sciences Division that reports to the Clinical Coordinator of Associate Degree Nursing.  

 

Salary: $50/hr.   

 

Minimum Requirements: (Job Code 10708) 
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing OR master's degree in nursing.  Must hold a current RN licensure in Georgia 

 

Preferred Qualifications:    

Teaching experience instructing students in the clinical, laboratory, and/or classroom setting is preferred. Two years’ experience teaching college-level nursing courses or two years’ experience as a registered nurse is preferred. Two years’ experience working in a hospital setting as a registered nurse is preferred.   

 

Job Description Summary: 

Adjunct clinical faculty responsibilities are to supervise and evaluate students at the clinical sites, as well as laboratory setting. Clinical sites vary from semester to semester.  Clinical locations are in Gwinnett, Rockdale, Newton, Dekalb, Fulton, Hall, Athens, Forsyth, Gainesville and additional counties as needed.  

 

Prepares and delivers clinical and lab course material.  Faculty evaluates students’ progress in meeting clinical/lab goals and objectives. Completes clinical/lab student evaluations and grades and evaluates all required student assignments.  Knowledgeable and willing to learn various software and platform, such as Blackboard, vSims, Docucare, ACEMAPP, Symplr, Low and High-fidelity mannequins. The willingness to pivot with the changing nursing environment. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.   All clinical faculty need to follow the protocol for credentialing at affiliated agencies (Immunizations, TB-testing, chest-x-ray, drug screen, background check, clinical/unit orientation, file upload to ACEMAPP, CPR, nursing license). This position requires pre-employment drug testing and random testing. Follows lesson plans for clinical instruction/lab for credited nursing courses. If offered a position, employees in this department must complete the Hazardous Materials Training as well as the Bloodborne & Airborne Pathogen training annually.
