- Preferred qualifications – Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, or related field
- Three Years of Accounting experience
- One year of experience entering and tracking capital assets in an accounting system
- Inventory/Assets tracking and reporting
- Reconciliation experience; analytical and quantitative skills
- Comments – This Accountant 2 role will be working closely with the staff of Georgia Correctional Industries and will be responsible for the following:
- Tracking and managing capital assets
- Conducting Physical Inventory audits of raw materials and finish goods
- Reconciling inventory values and providing any analysis of inventory turnover
- Overseeing and evaluating risk management activities
- Track the value of equipment, vehicles, and buildings in the accounting system and in the State Building, Land, Leased Inventory and Property Program (BLLIP)
- Coordinating the Comprehensive Loss Control Program (CLCP) for GCI, which will include regular site visits to identify potential safety hazards or potential property loss conditions and recommend corrective actions
- Notes – This position is in Forsyth, GA (Monroe County), at State Offices South at Tift College. However, this position will travel a great deal to the various GCI sites around the state of Georgia.
