Webmaster 1
The Webmaster 1 is responsible for maintaining and improving the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) website. Under supervision, learns to implement web technology to create and maintain websites. Develops and manages the content, design, layout and scheme for agency and/or division sites. This role requires a strong technical foundation and a keen eye for user experience. The Webmaster 1 will work closely with the Communications team to ensure brand consistency and will liaise with stakeholders to understand and implement business requirements.
Specific Duties Include:
• Website Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain the DDS website, ensuring it is accurate, up-to-date, and user-friendly.
• Technical Expertise: Implement and manage web technologies, such as Drupal, to optimize website performance and security.
• User Experience: Conduct user research and analysis to improve website usability and accessibility.
• Content Management: Collaborate with the Communications team to develop and manage website content, including text, images, and multimedia as well as help update the design and create logos, signage, digital advertising and other digital or printed marketing materials.
• SEO and Analytics: Utilize SEO techniques to improve website visibility and track website performance using analytics tools.
• Utilize Site Improvement to measure the website’s compatibility and compliance.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various departments within DDS to gather requirements and implement website changes.
• Project Management: Manage website projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring
Webmaster 2
The Webmaster 2 is a senior-level position responsible for leading and managing the DDS website. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of digital strategy. The Webmaster 2 will work with the content team, ensuring the website meets the needs of the agency and its customers.
The Webmaster 2 will also be responsible for all duties and responsibilities of the Webmaster 1 position.
Specific Duties Include:
• Strategic Leadership: Work with senior leadership to develop and implement a long-term digital strategy for the DDS website, aligning with the agency's overall goals.
• Under general supervision, implements web technology to create and maintain websites. Develops and manages the content, design, layout and scheme for agency and/or division sites.
• Website Architecture: Design and implement the website's architecture, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and user-friendly.
• Digital Marketing: Work with the content team to develop and execute digital marketing campaigns to increase website traffic and engagement.
• User Experience: Conduct user research and testing to optimize the website's user experience.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Webmaster 1 - High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience in designing, editing, and maintain a business web site.
· Webmaster 2 - High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience in designing, editing and maintaining a business website
Preferred Qualifications: Preferences will be given to those applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, also possess TWO or more of the following:
• Bachelor's degree in in business administration, graphic design or a related field from an accredited college or university
• 4 years experience in web development and/or web design
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills required.
• Strong technical skills, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and content management systems (e.g., Drupal)
• Experience with web development frameworks and tools
