Teacher (Blind/Deaf)-High School Math Teacher
Job Summary:
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) - Georgia Academy for the Blind is recruiting for a High School Math Teacher. Under general supervision, provides a comprehensive high school math education program to meet the needs of students who are visually impaired and/or multi-disabled in a residential school setting. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Description of Duties:
- Responsibilities include organizing and teaching Math classes
- Assess and document students’ educational needs to develop and implement appropriate instructional plans
- Develop appropriate instructional materials
- Utilize acceptable and innovative instructional techniques and practices
- Must maintain an effective learning environment
- Ensure that credentials remain current
- In some instances, may supervise additional classroom attendants
- Must follow professional practices consistent with the system and compiles with state administration regulations and policies
