The Georgia Department of Revenue is hiring multiple Tax Examiners to support the Motor Vehicle Division’s Title Processing Unit in administering state tax laws efficiently and fairly. The role involves reviewing and processing various registration applications to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements & communicating with internal and external customers on the status of pending applications and registrations via electronic and in-person interactions.
The Tax Examiner plays a vital role in assisting customers in-person, via phone, and email. Duties include but are not limited to:
· Providing timely, courteous and professional customer service to walk-in, online and mail customers.
· Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
· Utilizing computer-based systems to accurately process transactions via lobby, mail, and online sources.
· Balancing daily cash drawers and taking accountability for inventory assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of job-related experience ~or~ Associate degree in accounting or a related area from an accredited college or university
Preferred qualifications include work-related experience providing excellent in-person customer service to examine, approve and process applications.
*DOR temporary associates must have completed at least 6 consecutive months on the current assignment for consideration.
Salary: $39,728
Location: 4125 Welcome All Rd, Atlanta 30349 - This is not a remote position and will require an in-office presence with working hours of 8am to 4:45pm, Monday to Friday. Depending on business requirements, the start time may be adjusted to 7:30am.
