The Georgia Department of Revenue is hiring a Tax Examiner for the Motor Vehicle Division’s Title Image Examination (TIE) Unit to support its mission of in administering state tax laws efficiently and fairly.
The Tax Examiner is responsible for accurate data input, operating standard office equipment, and meticulous mail management. The role also requires organizing and maintaining paper and digital records, conducting audits of title images and missing documents, and utilizing Microsoft Office Suite for daily tasks. Success in this role hinges on strong attention to detail, proficiency in office applications, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Auditing a minimum number of title records weekly, and other duties assigned.
· Using independent judgment to determine accuracy, completeness, and validity of title applications.
· Rerouting applications received in the mail as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of job-related experience (e.g., Data Entry, Mail Processing) ~or~ associate degree in accounting or related area from an accredited college or university
Preferred qualification(s):
· Work-related experience reviewing applications for completeness and accuracy
· Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision.
In addition to meeting required qualifications, temporary associates must have completed at least 6 consecutive months on the current assignment for consideration
Salary: $39,728
Location: 4125 Welcome All Rd, Atlanta 30349 - This is not a remote position and will require an in-office presence with working hours of 8am to 4:45 pm, Monday to Friday. Depending on business requirements, the start time may be adjusted to 7:30 AM.
