Student Affairs Specialist- Liberty Campus
Savannah Technical College is seeking a well-organized professional to serve as the Student Affairs Specialist at the Paul R. Smith Army Education Center (Ft. Stewart, Liberty County, GA). The Student Affairs Specialist is responsible for performing specialized duties in support of student affairs functions. This position will be based at the Army Education Center but will be in direct connection to the STC Liberty Campus and may require travel to other Savannah Technical College campus locations.
Major duties include, but are not limited to:
- Answers application processing questions for new students.
- Process new student applications through the Salesforce TargetX system.
- Work within the Banner system to process and update student records.
- Makes acceptance decisions
- Correct errors within the TargetX, Axiom, Banner System
- Works within the Army-Ignited system/AI Portal: uploading STC programs, uploading STC courses, etc.
- Guide military students through TA funding process.
- Report active-duty soldier invoicing information to STC Business office personnel
- Uploading grades to AI Portal.
- Guide students to educational counselors when requesting TA funding and to establish Army Ignited account.
- Work with other colleges within the Army Education Center (AEC) building.
- Check on labs and classrooms within the AEC building.
- Check with STC GED personnel and others within the AEC building.
- Advises students during early registration, open registration, and drop/add periods.
- Conducts information sessions for prospective students.
- Interprets college transcripts.
- Certify and assist Veteran Students.
- Makes recruitment visits on military posts, career fairs, job fairs, etc.;
- Answers community inquiries via telephone, email, and in person.
- Assists faculty with student issues impacting registrations, advisement, and academics.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree *and* three (3) years of related work experience.
- Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business management, Public Administration or related field with a minimum of three years of student/customer service experience.
- Banner experience.
- General knowledge of military installations and military personnel.
