Employment Terms: This job is a full time, benefited, FLSA non-exempt position in the Student Affairs Division which reports to the Registrar.

 

Salary:  Targeted salary is commensurate with education and experience not to exceed the budgeted amount of $45,760 per year.

 

Schedule: This is a 40-hour per week, on-campus position at the Lawrenceville campus. Must be available to work Monday through Thursday between 8 am and 5 pm and on Friday between 8 am and 4 pm. Occasional Saturdays and some evenings until 6:00pm if coverage is needed. Schedule is subject to change. May occasionally work at the Alpharetta-North Fulton Campus. Flexibility is a must.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 11127): Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in closely related field and three (3) years of related work experience using Ellucian BANNER system in a post-secondary institution.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Three years of transfer credit evaluation experience and experience working within the Office of the Registrar and/or Student Affairs.

 

Strong computer and technical skills with working knowledge of BANNER Staff (student information system), BDMS, Parchment, Degree Works, Target X, TES, ACE and Microsoft Office applications.

 

Possesses effective time management skills. Anticipates needs and/or problems and finding effective solutions. Able to prioritize based on the needs of the department while managing multiple tasks and successfully meeting deadlines.

 

Ability to interact effectively as a member of a team and to work collaboratively with other departments.  Ability to listen to customers (e.g., students, staff, and faculty) and to understand and respond positively to their requests. Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities. Must possess a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. Attention to detail is a must.

Job Description Summary:

·      Under general supervision, the Transfer Credit Evaluator performs complex and technical duties involved in the evaluation of student records and transcripts for completion of degree requirements utilizing Banner student software, Degree Works and TES.

·      Determines course transferability and equivalencies of coursework completed at other institutions in relation to guidelines provided through the regional accreditation association and the Technical College System of Georgia in consultation with the Registrar, program directors and division deans.

·      Checks for course repetitions and verifies accreditation of other educational institutions attended by students.

·      Explains evaluation determinations to division deans, program directors, staff and students, as needed.

·      Experience in researching, interpreting and applying Registrar Office policies and procedures.

·      Assists students and staff in understanding registration and transfer policies and procedures.

·      Assists with registration including add/drop/withdrawal, registration labs, new student orientations, and/or graduation activities during peak enrollment periods.

·      Maintains high internal and external customer service standards.

·      Performs other duties as assigned.

2.      Accurately and efficiently determines course transferability and equivalencies of coursework completed at other institutions in relation to college, regional accreditation and the Technical College System of Georgia guidelines in consultation with the Registrar, program directors and Division Deans.

3.      Uses knowledge Military and alternative credit transfer guiding principles to award appropriate credit

4.      Gathers data and compiles reports using Tableau, Crystal Reports and web-based research tools

5.      Assists Registrar’s Office with providing information regarding Registrar Office policies, procedures and FERPA information to students, One-Stop Advisors, Division Deans and Program Directors

6.      Assists with registration including add/drop/withdrawal, registration labs, New Student Orientations, and/or graduation activities
