The Western Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office is hiring a Social Worker, Non-Licensed 1 in Clarke County. Under supervision, this role provides psychosocial support to individuals, families, and vulnerable populations dealing with chronic, acute, or terminal illnesses, as well as physical or developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include offering education and counseling to clients, supporting caregivers, and coordinating referrals to appropriate social service resources. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and have at least two years of experience in social services.

Description of Duties: The Social Worker, Non-Licensed 1 will provide client assessments, court advocacy, counseling and referrals, case management, and related social work coordination to support clients. Work involves interviewing and assessing clients’ needs, developing and recommending service/placement plans, counseling, coordinating referrals and resources, and developing partnerships to support services to clients. Demonstrate previous commitment to public defender clients. Performs other related duties as required.
