Senior Program Manager
Job Summary
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) - Office of Federal Programs is recruiting for an experienced Senior Program Manager for Budget, Data and Operations for grants under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Under limited supervision and in collaboration with the Director, this position will direct, develop goals and objectives for an educational program, and plan implementation strategies. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Description of Duties:
Monitor and evaluate results and recommends improvement to goals and objectives
Manage program resources
Direct subordinate managers and staff
Assess status of program implementation, documents result and recommends changes and improvements based on research and evaluation data
Set performance goals and objectives
Establish education program objectives
Design program procedures and develops policies
Evaluate programs to determine their effectiveness, efficiency, and utilization, and to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Interview, hire, direct, train, evaluate the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges employees
Manage human resources and directs administrative activities
Provide effective staff development and technical assistance to support program efforts at the implementation level
Responsible for budget and fiscal accountability
Responsible for program strategic planning and implementation and evaluation of performance measures
Supervise statewide staff using current and widely accepted management principles to maximize human, financial and technical resources
Statewide travel is required
**This is a remote/telework position based in Downtown Atlanta.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants who meets the minimum qualifications and one or more of the preferred listed below:
Strong understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), federal fiscal regulations, and federal fiscal requirements including allowability, monitoring, and grant management.
Familiar with agency internal policies and procedures
