Preferred Qualifications:
- Three years experience managing multiple capital improvement design and construction projects from inception to completion, including new construction and total or partial renovation of entire buildings systems and infrastructures.
- Three years experience managing multiple major building life safety fire alarm and sprinkler systems/repair, OR mechanical (HVAC), OR electrical, OR plumbing infrastructure repair or replacement construction projects.
- Well developed oral, written, analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess agency infrastructures and prioritize capital project needs for approximately thirty major correctional facilities and twenty-five other agency facilities located across Georgia.
- Develop capital project construction program needs and establish and manage budgets for design and construction of Life Safety, Fire Alarm Systems and Sprinkler Systems.
- Procure and administer engineering services contracts for agency design and construction projects.
- Manage various types of construction contracts for multiple capital improvement projects simultaneously to include Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Alarm Systems, and Sprinkler systems.
- Coordinate multiple contractors for the Life Safety / Fire Alarm and Sprinkler System repairs statewide.
- Coordinate involvement and contribution of multiple agency divisions and departments during the design and construction process.
- Ability to climb ladders and carry up to 25 pounds.
Comments/ Notes:
- This position is based out of GDC headquarters in Lies Hall at State Offices South at Tift College in Forsyth, GA.
- Job Duties require statewide travel to manage construction projects within correctional facilities. Limited overnight travel may be required, but most trips are only daily.
