PRESIDENT SEARCH FOR AUGUSTA TECHNICAL COLLEGE
Augusta Technical College, a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, is a public two-year college that provides access to learner-centered high-quality services; associate degree, diploma, and technical certificate of credit programs; continuing education opportunities; business and industry training; and adult education programs. Through traditional and distance delivery methods at multiple instructional sites, the College supports workforce development serving primarily the citizens of Burke, Columbia, Lincoln, McDuffie, and Richmond counties. The President will play a pivotal role in advancing Augusta Technical College’s mission, enhancing its reputation, and ensuring its long-term impact on students and the community.
The president of Augusta Technical College reports to the Commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia and is responsible for leadership and management of all aspects of college operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record that reflects the following qualifications and competencies:
· Dynamic Leadership: Exceptional ability to inspire, recruit, and retain talent while fostering a collaborative environment that drives institutional success.
· Financial Acumen and Vision: Demonstrated ability in fiscal management paired with a strategic mindset to ensure sustainable growth and resource allocation.
· Fundraising Expertise: A strategic focus on securing funds for capital initiatives, with the capability to cultivate a high-caliber Foundation Board dedicated to advancing the college’s mission through resource development.
· Community and Industry Engagement: Proven skill in forging impactful partnerships with leaders in business, civic organizations, industry, education, and the broader community to create innovative, mutually beneficial programs and relationships.
· Workforce Development Leadership: A successful history of implementing workforce development strategies that bolster economic growth at the state or regional level.
· Higher Education Insight: Deep awareness of emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the landscape of higher education.
· Strategic Relationship Building: Ability to establish and nurture influential connections with government and business leaders at both state and national levels.
Candidates must possess, at a minimum, a master’s degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university in business, educational leadership or a closely related field and five years of senior- level administrative experience within higher education. An ideal candidate will also possess a doctorate with five to ten years’ significant senior level leadership experience in higher education.
The salary will be established by the Commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia.
