Job Title:  Prescription Drug Prevention Project Coordinator

 

Pay Grade: L

  

Job Summary:

 

Under the direction of the Office of Prevention Services (OPS) Director, the primary role of the Rx Drug Prevention Project Coordinator is to supervise assigned staff and manage overall implementation of assigned Prevention Projects related to Rx Drugs. Ensuring activities are conducted in accordance with Federal and state regulations, policies, and procedures.

Supervise OPS staff and subrecipients prevention services/programs. Development and monitoring of prevention projects through contracts, use of goals and performance measures, contract deliverables, invoicing and payments, reporting, and evaluations. Serve as liaison with SAMHSA/CSAP, State Advisory Committee, Funders, DBHDD Departments, and community organizations. This position will also provide technical assistance to funded providers concerning aspects of prevention and will assist in the development of the community prevention infrastructure.

Specific Duties At-A-Glance:

Assist in the development and monitoring of regional and statewide prevention contracts and contract amendments. Monitoring of prevention contracts includes the following:

o   Review prevention activities to ensure that the activities are authorized and meet the respective guidelines of the funding source via monthly email updates, quarterly reports, MDS audits, site visits, and or periodic phone contacts.

o   Conduct annual and/or quarterly or more frequent site visits as required.

o   Review, approve, and process monthly income and expense reimbursement forms.

o   Work closely with the state prevention contract specialist to monitor funding levels and contract requirements.

o   Consult with Prevention Team Leaders on potential problem areas and on policy and procedural clearances and/or clarifications.

o   Review reports and other sources to identify potential issues, and to gauge provider performance and progress toward meeting contract deliverables, outcomes, and requirements.

o   Monitor data input into state web based data collection system.

o   Update providers on policy and/or procedural changes and financial and reporting deadlines.

 

Identify, organize, and disseminate information, of funding and prevention research, and training opportunities.

 

Promote prevention services to enhance the health and well being of individuals, families and communities in the target areas through a variety of strategies and activities.

 

Provide technical assistance and training to public and private organizations engaged in or interested in prevention activities, coordinating prevention efforts with existing prevention coalitions in the region.

 

Provide training and technical assistance to subrecipients/prevention providers on state web based reporting systems.

 

Establish and maintain effective communications and cooperative working relationships with regional staff, state staff, other agencies, community-based organizations, and local groups and providers.

 

OVERALL:

Oversee and manage OPS Prescription Drug Initiatives, the Prescription Drug Collaborative Initiative, and Opioid Settlement funded Projects. Assist in oversite of the State Opioid Response Grant activities. Promote OPS goals and work across the state.

High school diploma or GED AND One year of professional level experience related to the area of assignment.
