Plumbing & Pipefitting Adjunct Instructor
Nature of Duties:
Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses; prepares standardized course syllabi using a provided template; assesses students’ satisfactory progress based on established course grading requirements. May be
required to attend professional development training as required for specific classroom or online course delivery. Teaches Plumbing & Pipefitting courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the industry environment while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field. Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of Plumbing & Pipefitting. Measures program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success. Requires strong computer skills, communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population.
Selected candidates must be able to work morning or evening hours, Monday through Thursday.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Diploma in Plumbing and Pipefitting Technology from an accredited institution
• Ga Certified Construction Industry Licensing Board (GCILB) Master Plumbing License or
CBILB Journeyman Plumber
• Three (3) years out of the past seven (7) years of direct industry experience
• Three (3) years of Supervisory Experience
• Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate degree in a related field
• Ten (10) + years of in-field experience
• Directly Related Teaching experience at the post-secondary level
• Additional Industry certifications
• Knowledge of discipline-specific state standards

Salary/Benefits:
• All adjunct positions are part-time, temporary positions. Hours are offered based on student
enrollment each semester.
• Adjunct positions do not include benefits or a promise of future full-time employment.

To be considered for the Adjunct Pool, applicants must upload transcripts, resumes, and certifications
with their application. Adjunct Pool applications are for the current academic year, and a new
application is required each academic year. Adjuncts are paid on a per-contact-hour basis. All courses
are face-to-face unless otherwise indicated. Courses are offered Monday through Thursday during
both morning and evening hours.
