Photography Instructor- Full Time
POSITION: Photography Instructor
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under supervision of the Dean of General Education, Business and Professional Services, the ideal candidate will perform all aspects of instruction for photography courses.
Responsibilities include developing course syllabi, goals, and objectives; evaluating students' progress in attaining goals and objectives; preparing and maintaining all required documentation and administrative reports; attending staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences; and assisting in academic support services, including advisement and tutoring. Serves on college committees, participates in community service activities, and/or participates in college initiatives; meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues; assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts; provides instruction on multiple campuses as well as local high school(s).
Applicants must be willing to teach courses during the evening or at a local high school if needed. Employment is with North Georgia Technical College and not with an individual campus. All employees are subject to work relocation based on college needs. Required to work 36 hours on campus with 4 hours of telework. The 36 hours could include evening courses. Typical schedule is 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday but may flex based on course schedule.
MAJOR DUTIES
· Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus
· Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives
· Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught
· Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives
· Administers and grades class examinations
· Maintains records of student grades
· Attends in-service training, workshops, and seminars, as needed
· Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas
· Assists with retention efforts
· Meets with students, staff members, supervisors, as needed
· Other duties as assigned

· Skill in the use of computers and job-related software programs
· Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
· Oral and written communication skills
· Knowledge of student information systems
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in Photography or related field with appropriate coursework related to course(s) taught AND related work experience
Experience teaching in a post-secondary setting.
