Georgia Piedmont Technical College seeks a part-time, Professional Laboratory Assistant for the Cosmetology program.  The laboratory assistant will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to:

·     Assisting faculty members with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, tracking attendance and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction.

·     Tutoring or mentoring students.

·     Performing laboratory research.

·     Cleaning/preparing labs as needed.

·     Obtaining materials needed for classes, including texts and other materials.

·     Assisting in school sponsored events, fundraisers and other various activities pertaining to the Cosmetology program.

·     Assisting with maintaining inventory organization.

Chosen candidate must be able to work mornings/afternoons, Monday through Friday.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Licensed Cosmetologist. 
• 1-2 years full-time, paid work experience within the past seven years.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and Saturdays.
• Ability to travel to Dekalb & Newton Campus.

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to Minimum Qualifications, 1 years’ experience working in a hair salon or barbershop or related industry business.

Part Time

The hourly pay rate for this position is $17-$21.

This is a part-time position working up to --- hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. Georgia Defined Contributions, Social Security and taxes will be deducted.
