Paulding Judicial Circuit- Paralegal III


The Paulding Judicial Circuit Office is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Paralegal III. Applicants must meet all required qualifications and possess the skills necessary to effectively perform the duties and responsibilities of the role. The Paralegal III will be responsible for conducting comprehensive legal research, analyzing data, and investigating relevant facts in cases involving indigent clients. Candidates must also exhibit excellent customer service and keyboarding skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Prior experience in a law office setting is preferred.

Description of Duties: The Paralegal III provides assistance and coordination in preparing and conducting research to support a legal proceeding, to formulate a defense, or to initiate legal or administrative action for the Circuit Public Defender Office, under limited supervision.  Drafts and prepares legal documents for review. Assists legal offices with scheduling hearings, appointments and interviews.  May serve as a lead guiding others in legal research. Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of experience as a legal assistant in a legal environment; or certificate from a paralegal training program and two (2) years of experience as a legal assistant in a legal environment; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Paralegal 2 (LET031) or position equivalent.
