JOB SUMMARY
The Property Management Internship Program is a part-time year-round internship opportunity with the Georgia Department of Transportation. This program provides students with collaborative and innovative learning experiences that complement their academic curriculum. Interns will expand and strengthen their professional background by building workplace relationships, learning new tools, and gaining hands-on experience in instructional design and learning technologies.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Office of Right of Way Property Management Intern will provide administrative, analytical, and research support and other real estate services for the Right-Sized Initiative, which focuses on identifying, evaluating, and managing excess and underutilized real property.
This position will assist the Right of Way Property Management staff with data review, mapping analysis, documentation, and ArcGIS-based parcel analysis and real estate services support in property management activities. Through this position, the intern will gain hands-on experience in surplus property processes and public-sector real estate services using Microsoft Office tools, ArcGIS applications, Google productivity tools, and emerging AI-based tools to support data analysis, documentation, and workflow efficiency in a public-sector environment.
STATE QUALIFICATIONS
· Student enrolled in a Georgia high school, technical college or university/ college. Must be currently enrolled during the internship.
AGENCY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Enrolled as a full-time or part-time student in a Business - Real Estate, Marketing, Public Administration/Policy or related discipline
· Overall GPA of 2.0 of better
· Fall of previous year academic transcript
· Meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States; 18 years of age
· Meet any additional requirements of the attending school's Internship Program
AGENCY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Students working towards a degree in Business - Real Estate, Marketing, Public Administration/Policy or related discipline
· Ability in the use of data review, mapping analysis, documentation, and ArcGIS-based parcel analysis and real estate services support in property management activities.
· Experience in surplus property processes and public-sector real estate services using Microsoft Office tools, ArcGIS applications, Google productivity tools, and emerging AI-based tools to support data analysis, documentation, and workflow efficiency in a public-sector environment.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
This is a temporary internship position. Interns are paid on an hourly basis in accordance with their current academic classification as of the previous Fall Semester. This position does not include benefits, earned leave, or paid holidays. Interns may work up to 40 hours per week during the program period.
The pay for this position is as follows:
· (0–59 semester hours): $20.00 per hour
· (60–120 semester hours): $21.00 per hour
· Graduate students (must hold a bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in a graduate program): $23.00 per hour
